Our Story
In 2018, co-founder Dimitris wanted to buy a Christmas present for his friend. Unfortunately, everything Dimitris thought his friend would like was out of his price range and he ended up getting a cheap gift, to give them something as a compromise.
Dimitris stumbled upon some common dilemmas:-
- How do I get the right gift that people actually want?
- How do I not have to make concessions on cost?
- He also thought about the wasted money, time and resources that go into giving and receiving unwanted presents.
The solution to this problem was crowdfunding and this prompted the creation of the WhatWeWant app. A hassle-free way to ensure everyone gets a meaningful gift they actually want and need.
What crowdfunding means to WhatWeWant?
At WhatWeWant, we believe in helping people get what they really need through crowdfunding. At its simplest, you'll upload what you need on our app and share it with as many people as you want. As you collect your contributions, we will keep them safe and transfer them to you, whenever you need them. You then use what you have collected to get what you want. Then follow up with your contributors to show them what you have been able to do with their support.

Where We Are
At the moment WhatWeWant uses pounds (£) as its main currency. That does not mean you cannot use the app if you want to withdraw in your local currency, your bank will automatically convert your money.
