- What can I upload?
In short - anything you want! WhatWeWant is here to fill in the gaps that other crowdfunders don't. The skies the limits so don't limit yourself to just items; why not crowdfund holidays, experiences, events, activities, hobbies, parties...

- What are the Fees?

WhatWeWant charges a flat fee of 4% on all contributions. For more details read our pricing page.

Our payment provider charges fees of 1.9% of the amount contributed plus 20p for each contribution and 45p on withdrawals. Further information can be found here www.mangopay.com/en_UK/pricing/ 

- When will I receive my money?

Depending on your payment providers, it might take up to 2 business days for the money to reach your bank account. In most cases, you should receive your funds on the same day.

- What are the best tips to reach my target?

Sharing is the best way to reach your target. Take advantage of all the ways you can share via the app most of our users share their campaigns on Whatsapp and on their socials. You can also invite friends and family to download the app so they don't miss out when you upload. The more, the merrier. Check out our Blogs for more tips and hints.

Registering

- Are you eligible to join the WhatWeWant Community?
We love supporting social causes. We are perfect for those raising funds for non-profits, social enterprises, community groups especially for anyone who wants to make the world a better place. We really like all those amazing people who are helping others, who believe that we have a responsibility to each other and to future generations. 


To be eligible to run a crowdfunding campaign on WhatWeWant, you'll need to satisfy four criteria:

 

- You must be over 18 to use the app, unless you have express permission from your parent or guardian.

 

- You must crowdfund for something with a defined outcome, so that it is easily understood where the money is going to and what the target is.

 

- We don't believe your legal structure dictates your ability to make the most out of WhatWeWant - you can be a registered charity, a private or for-profit company, a small business, an individual just starting up or anything in between, including crowdfunding for gifts.

 

- Due to regulatory issues, it is in our best interest that we do not allow campaigns involving guns and firearms, drugs, illegal goods, the direct offer of financial products including debt, any surgery or medical bills arising from life-threatening circumstances.


- How old do I need to be to use the WhatWeWant App?

You must be over 18.

- Why can't I register?

If you have any issues registering, first try restarting your phone and reinstalling the app, Make sure when you sign up you have filled in all your details in correctly especially your phone number as you will be receiving a text to verify your account. If you are still having trouble registering please get in contact with support@whatwewant.co.uk.

- What countries is WhatWeWant available in?

We are available in over 40 countries and even more if you want to contribute. Check out our map for more information

Creating

- How do I create a campaign?

Go to the What I Want page and press the '+' icon in the top right corner. Fill in all the relevant information, and upload your campaign! Find out more here.

- Can I create a group gift/campaign?

Yes! You can. Choose 'Selected contacts' and select who you would like to invite as a contributor to your crowdfund. WhatWeWant is perfect for surprise gifts - don't forget to exclude the person you're surprising.


You can also create group in 'contacts'. For example "Family", "Uni friends" or "Wedding Guests".

- Who can see what I have uploaded?

You have 3 options:-


All contacts – These are all your contacts that have the WWW app.

Selected contacts – Only the people you select will be able to see it.

WWW Crowd – This is everyone on the app.


A general rule is if you have sent them a link to your campaign, they can see it.

- What is the maximum and minimum I can ask for?

The maximum is £5,000 before it needs to be reviewed. The minimum is £40.

- Can I edit my gift/campaign?

Campaigns can be edited by navigating to the campaign you want to edit and by tapping the pen icon on the top right of the screen.

Contributing

- Can someone who does not have the app contribute?

Yes, when you send them the link, they will be taken to our guest checkout page.

- What is the maximum and minimum I can give?

The maximum is around £2000. The minimum is £1.

- Can I contribute to a campaign I created?

Yes! In fact we encourage it in our tips and hints here.

- How do I add a Credit/Debit card?

You can add a Credit/Debit card when contributing just follow the instructions on the WWW app.

Sharing

- How can you inform people I have created a gift/campaign on WhatWeWant?

When you create a campaign, you'll be given a sharing link. Share this link with your family, friends or whoever you want, so they can contribute.

- How do I become a featured campaign on the WhatWeWant Website?

If you want your campaign to feature on our website and social media get in contact via our email whatwewant@whatwewant.co.uk. Check out some our featured campaigns.

Withdrawing

- Where is my money held before I withdraw it?

Your money is held in a secure escrow account which is monitored by our payment provider, MangoPay.

- When can I withdraw?

You can withdraw whenever you want as long as you have collected over £40.

- What happens to my money if the target amount isn't reached?

You can always extend your goal if you need more time. You can withdraw your funds when you hit £40.

- Why do I need to upload my personal information (ID)?

Regulations require us to comply with Know-Your-Client (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. This may include requiring information such as identity documents and banking details.

- Why is everything in pounds?

WWW deals in GBP. On a payout from a GBP wallet to a non-UK bank account, a currency conversion will occur from your bank, subject to the bank's rates and fees.

- How can I thank my contributors?

When withdrawing, the app gives you the option to show your appreciation by writing a thank you message.

- Why has my KYC been rejected?

- The image you have uploaded is not a selfie taken at the time you uploaded your KYC submission.

- The ID/document has expired.

- The ID/document is unreadable.

- The ID/document does not match the information you have entered.


- An accepted document has not been uploaded. All accepted documents are listed below:-

• EU area: ID Card, Passport, Residence Permit, or Driving License.

• UK, USA and Canada: Passport or Driving Licence.

• For other nationalities: a passport is required.

You must be 18 or over to use this app unless you have parental consent.
